Photo reblogged from FEMINISM! What? Yeah. with 6,034 notes
This dress was inspired by the student in my sociology class who thought that all feminists were hairy and butch. I just want to make sure that everyone knows that a feminist can wear whatever the fuck she or he (or both or neither) feels like wearing. My sociology professor loved the dress and she gave me extra credit! I used a potato stamp to make the print, I used a vintage pattern to make the dress, and I embroidered the phrase “This is what a feminist looks like” on the bodice.
I WANT THIS DRESS TO EXIST FOR ME. oh my goodness gracious so much want.

My friend and I were messing around drinking cheap wine one night, and she drew this on my foot with Sharpie. I like it so much I declared I had to have it as a real tattoo, and one week later, here’s the final, immortal version!
it’s been cleaned up a bit, rotated, and enlarged from it’s original form, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
The artist is Lee at Old School Tattoo in Bellingham, WA.
so cute

Such RAge!!
fighting for a release
dying to punish those
lying that they have a soul
Waiting to tumble off
that precipice into the
abyss because I can’t stand
the insensitivity and ignorance
masking as ‘humor’.
Trash needs to stay in
its place and not
pollute the minds and voices
of our children who unfortunately
do not have a choice
as to what they can learn
Small minds polluted and
contaminated by a lost
generation’s insecurities, hatred
and impotence until we
are a lost race looking
for a place to call home.
A lost race that has not even
a body to call its own.
And the anger, the anger
has no place to go
the smoke can’t leave the chimney
because the foundation is cracking
until there are no windows
no doors, no place for it go.
So it builds, it collects itself
in me looking for a way out, needing
A cause to help,
a house to build,
a hand to hold,
and a soul to fix
and a heart to make whole.
(but) There’s nowhere to go,
because a voice
without a mind of it’s own,
is like wind howling
through the Sahara, it is a wind
that can travel many distances
and take different forms
before it ceases and dies alone.
Anger is just another flavor of
the wind. It is just another aspect
or decoration to add to the home.
The home whose foundation is
creaking and leaking, leaving
those decorations a landfill to
circle and inhabit.
But the new winds do not see
that a landfill is not better
than a mansion.
Yellowing teeth or shiny glass
can never replace wooden words
and warm hands to hold in the cold.
So now, rather than anger,
all I feel is cold regret and sadness
knowing that this generation and
the next will be nothing
like the last, they will ephemeral
and forgotten or hopefully
put down painfully before they
can infect and contaminate innocent
souls who don’t know / Haven’t gotten the chance to know
what a home is.

it’s a quote from my favorite book Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.
the only difference is the word “cut” got changed to “ripped” so that the lines of the words would be even. Also, due to copyright purposes.
done by Ian McKown at Emporium of Design in Denver, CO.

Iv been a constant reader for ever. At any kind of event you could find me reading in the back. I love anything vintage so I had to get a quill. My manager just found out I had a tattoo. And just had to point out ” you know thats gonna become pretty outdated..People are gonna get kindles tattooed soon”
I love my tattoo. for its outdated qualities. Its different like me.
Its empty cause Im a quiet person. And I have yet to find that one thing that says it all.
